Introduction to Principles of Corporate Communication

Communication is a skill acquired by an individual by an individual to exchange messages, facts, ideas, opinions and even express emotions. This skill is acquired either without any conscious effort, or by conscious effort through education. When it is acquired without conscious effort (Like a child acquiring its mother tongue), it creates a certain profile for the individual. There is much discussion in the academic world of communication as to what actually constitutes communication. Currently, many definitions of communication are used in order to conceptualize the processes by which people navigate and assign meaning. Communication is also understood as the exchanging of understanding. We migt say that communication consists of transmitting information from one person to another. In fact, many scholars of communication take this as a working definition, and Lass well's maxim, "who says what to whom in what channel with what effect," as a means of definition for communication. A simple communication model is one wit a sender transferring a message containing information to a receiver. Communication stands so deeply rooted in human behaviours and the structures of society that scholars have difficulty thinking of it while excluding social or behavioral events... corporate communication

Types of Written Communication

In order to make the letters, memoranda, reports, representations and other forms of communication effective, one should follow certain scientific principles. Written communication, is a way for two or more, individuals, to communicate with each other, using letters, internet, and texting. It is used when two people need to talk to each other, about a particular item, to figure out answers to problems. Written communication involves any type of interaction that makes use of the written word. It is one of the two main types of communication, along with oral/spoken communication. Written communication is very common in business situations, so it is important for small business owners and managers to develop effective written communication skills. Handling Business Information

The main purpose of all communication in an organization is the general welfare of the organization. Effective communication is needed to ensure the above at all stages. Modern organizations are very large in size. In a large organization, personal contact between persons is less frequent. Therefore, telecommunications become necessary to remain in touch. Several firms operate on a world scale. Efficient and rapid means of communication are required to overcome the problem of distance.
